Motorola MB8611 Light Pattern

The Motorola MB8611 is a cable modem and its light patterns can provide information about the status of your internet connection. Here's what each light means:

1. **Power**:
- Solid Green: Power is properly connected.
- Off: No power.

2. **Downstream**:
- Solid Blue: Connected to the internet (Channel bonding is completed).
- Blinking Blue: Scanning for a downstream channel.
- Off: Not scanning for a downstream channel.

3. **Upstream**:
- Solid Blue: Connected to the internet (Channel bonding is completed).
- Blinking Blue: Channel bonding is in progress.
- Off: Not scanning for an upstream channel.

4. **Online**:
- Solid Green: Modem is online.
- Blinking Green: Registration is in progress.
- Off: Modem is not online.

5. **2.5G Ethernet**:
- Solid Green: A device is connected to the Ethernet port and is operating at 1000 Mbps.
- Solid Blue: A device is connected to the Ethernet port and is operating at 2.5 Gbps.
- Blinking Green or Blue: Data is being transferred between the modem and your device.
- Off: No device is connected to the Ethernet port.

Please note that if any of the lights are blinking for an extended period or if they are a color not listed here, it could indicate a problem with your modem or your internet connection. In such cases, you should contact your internet service provider or Motorola's customer support for assistance.

Motorola MB8611 Line Stats

The Motorola MB8611 is a DOCSIS 3.1 cable modem. For this modem to function optimally, the line statistics or signal levels should ideally be within the following ranges:

1. **Downstream (Receive) Signal Levels**: This represents the signal level received by the modem from the cable provider. The optimal range is -7 dBmV to +7 dBmV. Anything outside this range might cause issues.

2. **Upstream (Transmit) Signal Levels**: This represents the signal level transmitted by the modem to reach the cable provider. The optimal range is between 35 dBmV and 50 dBmV. If the signal level is too low or too high, it could indicate a problem.

3. **Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR)**: This measures the clarity of the cable channel signal. For a DOCSIS 3.1 modem, the minimum downstream SNR should be 30 dB, but ideally, it should be above 33 dB for the best performance.

4. **Corrected and Uncorrected Codewords**: Codewords are units of data the modem uses. Corrected codewords indicate that there was an error with the data, but it was corrected. Uncorrected codewords indicate that there was an error that could not be corrected. Ideally, the number of uncorrected codewords should be zero, or very low.

Please note that these are general guidelines and the acceptable levels can vary slightly depending on your specific cable provider and the conditions of your cable network.
